A brown bag full of gourmet goodies?
At first one might ask, does downtown Sarasota need yet another breakfast and lunch place? If it is just another spot, the answer is not really. However, Michelle’s Brown Bag Café is not your typical breakfast or lunch spot. Combining fresh gourmet ingredients, a creative menu, a casually simple setting, reasonably sized portions and prices, Michelle’s Brown Bag Café has carved a niche in the highly competitive downtown Sarasota breakfast and lunch field.
Even though the breakfast menu offers muffins, bagels, scones, egg sandwiches and breakfast wraps from 8:00-11:00am, it is the lunch menu that really sets Michelle’s Brown Bag Café apart. Offering a wide assortment of gourmet sandwiches, a build your own option, and specialty salads; making a single choice could pose a challenge. For our lunch we chose the following:
The Bird Key: Homemade chicken salad, sliced apple, baby greens, tomato, sprouts & crumbled gorgonzola. Served on your choice of bread and a side $7.95
A fresh, hearty sandwich with a great blend of flavors and textures.
Fresh Albacore Tuna Salad: Served with a choice of bread, veggies, spreads, and a side. $6.50, add extras like cheese, bacon, or avocado for $1.00-$1.50 more
A large sandwich fully loaded; tasty and filling.
Michelle’s offers a full range of soft drinks, lemonade, and passion fruit iced tea (very refreshing.)
