Me and my partner are going to China later this year to visit her parents. I have an AmplifiHD router setup with teleport to access my home network.
Will I be able to use the teleport app to scale the great firewall and access my home network?
I’m pretty sure you have to be connected to a Wi-Fi network for it to work. I used my teleport from Curaçao with no problem while connected to the resort wifi.
THe app worked pretty flawlessly for me from South America for a few months.
Also, how many Amplifi HD routers do you have? If you can remove one from your normal network and take it to China with you, you can set that up to teleport too - you just have to assign devices on the network to Teleport in the Amplifi app (e.g. we teleported our Apple TV, so we could watch streaming services from home).
I would just contact support and ask. They are really good, I had issues getting Teleport to work at all and they kept in touch with me for a couple weeks while I sent them system logs.
