Series and movies in russian

Hi, I am learning russian and would like to watch some of the movies I like in russian. I particularly enjoy disney and ghibli stuff, however I couldn’t find anything in russian. Somehow disney plus doesn’t offer russian as well. Does anyone know what I can do?

Mosfilm has a YouTube channel, you can find tons of movies there. Some even with eng subs.

Thanks I will try. I don’t really need english subs though. I don’t like reading while watching. I don’t mind if I don’t understand something because by watching I get used to the pronounciation (some russians though I was russian when they heard me speaking and I like that)

Mosfilm has 2 YT channels: one is for Russian-speaking viewers (about 6 millons subs), and Mosfilm eng (about 600k subs) with mostly the same movies with the English, Spanish, or Arabic subs embedded in the video. Looks like the first one is for you, even though I’d also suggest to watch the other one with subs.

There is also Odesa film studio channel, with movies from Параджанов, Кира Муратова etc or, for example, the legendary Место встречи изменить нельзя

Are those popular russian films? Thanks I will try. Btw I like animated stuff alot. Do you know something for that?

Параджанов, Муратова, Сокуров are very great but dark. There is also Тарковский, with very beautiful pictures, he is the most popular soviet filmmaker amidst westerners (besides Эйзенштейн).

Место встречи изменить нельзя are cult soviet criminal series, starring Высоцкий, famous guitar singer. On this subject, there is also Игла with Цой (Кино band).

Soviet cartoons - many of them on YouTube, the most surrealist are Armenian ones, from Sahakyants

I really liked a movie called a talking fish or something, and the snow queen which inspired hayao miyazaki
