Nord keeps picking servers on the other side of the planet. Why?

Yesterday, I turned on my computer and noticed Nord connected to Bosnia – today, it’s connecting to Germany. Why would it be picking servers literally thousands upon thousands of miles away? Usually, it picks servers in cities closest to me.

Update: Well, looks like I’m not the only one, either. And someone’s now mentioned this started happening since the update, with some weirdness re: split tunneling and how Nord’s routing things in our computers. So, what’s going on? This is a bit weird. Maybe it really is time to find a new VPN.

I would say, because the latency and load on these are really low, so they are the best and fastest it can find. Usually it takes the closest to you, but if the latency is bad it searches for the closest and fastest server.

Fix: Log out and log back in using nordaccount.

Worked for me on Debian.

Lol this evening I am located in the Netherlands it connected me to Hong Kong so your right about that. Very strange.

It’s not just you, I’m facing the same issue.

Keeps picking Spain for me, I’m in the USA.
