Is the VPN 31 days refund policy real?

I purchased PVPN’s 2 year subscription service during the thanksgiving. The main reason to pick PVPN is that it has a so-called Chinese server. However, after a few days of trial, I noticed that the server is actually located in Indonesia with a proxy. Apps like Netease and Bilibili can easily detect that the server is outside mainland China.

So I initiated the refund process since they claimed users can get a full refund within 31 days. That’s when the nightmare started. First, I sent the refund request email to customer service. (Yes, they only allow you to request a refund via email even though they have a “24/7” online support); After 2 days, someone finally replied that they need me to PROVE that I cannot access those Chinese websites and also asked me to install other VPN solutions like browser extensions. I had to reinstall everything and send those screenshots in the email. Now, a week has passed, and no one from P*VPN has contacted me again, even though the refund policy states that refunds should be initiated within 24 hours.

I am not sure if this is a typical scam tactic regarding the “31 days refund policy” for VPN providers. It seems they must try hard to force customers to prove that the VPN does not meet their needs, and possibly extend the process past the 31-day refund deadline? Curious if anyone has successfully received a refund before?
