Hey there Im an Iranian dude like yall and hater of IR but.. at the other hand I love my country too and I dont want Iran to die off like yugoslavia or soviet union I know seperatism is not strong In persians lurs Gilaks but on the other hand especially I myself witnessed lots of panturks and to some extent arab seperatists (but azeris more)
So my question is for Iranian Kurds Iranian Turks Baluchis and Arabs how strong is sepertism in yall? and should we be worried in case of seperatism movements once IR dies?
I wouldn’t worry about it. Our people instinctively think of themselves as Iranian. They don’t even think about it. The Iranian identity is just there.
I actually think seperatism is an exaggerated problem in today’s Iran.
Based on what I see around me I wouldn’t spend time talking about it as much as everybody does. And the fact that everybody does talk about it so much is somewhat suspicious.
I think it’s because the regime and even a part of the opposition are using it as a political boogyman. By saying that Iran’s territorial integrity is in question and you should support us to keep this thing together.
Outright separatism will likely not be a massive problem once a government that respects minority rights is formed. But there is likely to be pushes for autonomy in some regions. The SDF in Syria for instance have given up on separatism and now advocate for a federalized Syria.
When elections are held for a government to form a constitution, some Kurds and Baluchs will likely make parties which will advocate for a relatively decentralized government similar to a federation. Whether that happens or not I don’t know. Maybe it would be good, maybe not. But at the end of the day, I don’t think outright separatism is likely to be a huge problem unless the next government continues repression of minorities the way the IR does (which I doubt will happen)
Iran has fringe groups of seperatists like many countries do but the sentiment is not huge in Iran at all. You have to consider that Iran has been a multi ethnic country for thousands of years. Ethno-states are a backwards idea in todays world and the territorial I regretted of iran is of paramount importance for Iranians.
I’ve never heard of serious Arab separatists in Iran. Or even Turkish or Lurish separatists. I’ve only heard of Kurdish separatists who want their Kurdistan but even then, most of the Kurdish population is in turkey and iraq so they have to contend with that.
And I’ve certainly NEVER heard of Gilaki separatists. As far as I’m aware, they don’t have a problem with being Iranian.
I don’t think separatism will be a serious issue this time around.

Yes, depends on the ethnic group Kurds and Baluch are very pro separatist at least ones in there ethnic lands are.
Just search up the ethnic groups and do research this sub Reddit is very bias for a United Iran, and the Kurdish/Baluch subreddits are also very bias for a country. Better to just look and do the research your self then ask Reddit.
As a Kurd who has grown up around mostly Kurds from all over Kurdistan in the west, Kurds in Iran want a country very much.
Iranian Kurds I met in the west and in the Middle East have all said the same thing as being pro country, except for one guy who was a loyalist. The only Kurds in Iran that aren’t pro country that I have seen are mix Kurds or Kurds that don’t live in western Iran/eastern Kurdistan.
However this is from a point of view of someone who doesn’t live in Iran, but from what I seen online, in person, and others it seems like Kurds in Iran want a country.
I do recommend you to do your own research if you can, instead of asking subreddits that can be very bias to either side.
I myself have seen TONS of people in youtube in Azerbaijan country medias yk telliing bs seperatism stuffs (Iranian Azeri seperatists) I myself recently seen someone from Naghdeh and have a memory of seeing panturkism slogan in car of someone in tabriz so I myself am extremely worried about Turks and Kurds the most
Thats great to hear! thanks for sharing! and Im happy to hear that just one question though do u think by any chance countries of turkey and Azerbaijan could be problemetic in this case still? cause yk? their medias and huge support of seperatism and all which Im sure u as a turk should know about(and u can search their medias on youtube sorry I cannot send links due to my vpn being broken these days)
Overral though I sure hope so that we could have a solified united propser Iran afer our revolution
I mean.. does Ir really repress minorities? I mean… Mazanis Gilaks are not persian but north is quite developed and pretty same with turks Both Urmia and Tabriz are magnificant cities and part of top 10 biggest cities of Iran besides many ppl I have seen in Tehran baazars were Iranian turks Im not a fan of Ir dont get me wrong but overrall I think IR cares more about religion than who is who sunni persian regions for example are as underdeveloped as some baluchistan regions
Personally Im NOT a fan of federation happening I think Central government is better with the native language of each groups of Iran being tought in school perhaps even a site by gov to teach amazing poems of each ethnics of iran and make Iran beautiful culturally and become land of poems again
As for seperatism movements personally I do fear it cause Iran DOES have many enemies against himself like Saudis are infamous for their support of Al Ahvaz terrorist groups Azerbaijan country is doing MASSIVE propaganda claiming Iranian Azerbaijan heck! use google translate and go into Azerbaijan country media as for baluchs I doubt cause both Pakistan and Iran will take actions against any threats by this same as kurds
