just use FDM, it works better than torrent
I’d say torrent in 99% of cases, is actually more private & secure. Use a VPN if your country enforces international anti piracy laws
Torrent is not more secure nor more private
With DDL, ISP cannot physically see what you download nor that you’re downloading
With torrent they can see you’re torrenting, and you can get ISP email
How is it “more private & secure”? I do torrent and prefer it but tbh it’s definitely not more secure, torrent is secure but I still wouldn’t say more than DDL
more secure because DDL can be altered by a man in the middle (won’t happen to anyone, but possible) while a torrent file is hashed. Also, a torrent that’s a virus is less likely to be highly seeded while a direct download can be whatever it wants.
more private because the ISP can see you’re torrenting, but I can’t see WHAT you’re torrenting (as opposed to direct download) because you get it in chunks from multiple seeders instead of 1 download.
with a VPN, even more private, as with a good VPN, your ISP won’t even know and then can’t report you
