Sorry, I am currently using “AllDeb” and I can’t stream 4K or 1080P high quality files larger than 20+GB with my 100mbps connection (Firestick 4K). I am located in India and thinking of buying Real Debrid next month, as AllDeb is not working well for me, although some say it works well for them. My experience has been terrible. Does location matter? I don’t think both AllDebrid and RealDebrid have dedicated servers near Asia. Sorry for wasting your time.
In my experience, yes, location and device can affect performance.
Both AllDebrid and Real Debrid have data centers or CDNs near your country. AllDebrid’s data center is in Asia. RealDebrid’s CDN includes Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Cloudflare.
Streaming using a single connection can have different results depending on the device or CDN.
My ISP is 100Mbps. I tested both AllDebrid and RealDebrid on my PC with 5GHz WiFi and Android Box with gigabit LAN streaming 4K remux movies (60-80GB).
AllDebrid on PC averages 80Mbps, on Android Box around 55Mbps (sometimes buffers).
RealDebrid Singapore server: PC averages 70Mbps, Android Box 55Mbps.
RealDebrid Hong Kong server: PC averages 100Mbps, Android Box 90Mbps.
RealDebrid Cloudflare: both devices around 100Mbps.
These results are from network speed tests on PC and Android Box, which you can check:
- RealDebrid speed test: https://real-debrid.com/speedtest
- AllDebrid speed test: https://alldebrid.com/contact?from=speedtest
You can change the CDN in settings: disabled (Europe), automatic (nearest CDN), Cloudflare.
If the automatic CDN is slow, contact RealDebrid support to switch to another CDN. I set my automatic CDN to Singapore but speed was slower than Hong Kong, so I requested a change or switched to Cloudflare for faster streaming.
How far is your router from your TV? The closer, the better. Are you using 5GHz WiFi instead of 2.4GHz? Are you using a good VPN or no VPN? I’m not sure about AllDebrid’s policy on VPN use, but with Real Debrid, you typically don’t need one. I use Real Debrid on a 5GHz WiFi connection with PIA VPN (set to the US for streaming), and I have no issues. Location shouldn’t matter much as long as your internet is stable.
What device are you using? Large files might be too much for it. Do 5-10GB files play smoothly?
Make sure you’re connected via LAN cable, not WiFi, and check your actual speed during buffering. You might not get the full 100Mbps. I believe your issue isn’t on the Debrid service side. I have both AllDebrid and RealDebrid and typically get over 2Gbps download speeds on both.
Thanks, this helps a lot.
I am mostly just 5 feet from the router, using 5GHz, and fiber connection, so it’s quite stable.
Playing 5-10GB files is okay for a 2-hour movie, like 1080p. My device is Firestick 4K.
My download speed from fiber is about 12MBps (~100Mbps). I can’t test speed with RD or AllDebrid on my Firestick. My laptop’s LAN port is broken, and it only uses 2.4GHz WiFi, so I can’t test there. I tested with Firestick speedtest, which shows about 90% of my full speed. I think the problem is with the Firestick.
I think it’s the Firestick. I can play a 15GB movie easily but some high-bitrate anime like ‘Drifters’ from Lulu don’t work well. If possible, could someone try from their device? The source is Lulu.
From what I’ve read, those devices aren’t as powerful as people expect. It could be the file size. Try increasing the size gradually—12GB, 14GB, 16GB—and see where problems start. Also, test both h264 and h265 codecs. I suggest sticking with AllDebrid. My experience with Real Debrid was terrible.
I wish I could buy an Nvidia Shield at a lower price. It’s not sold in my country and costs twice as much as in the US. Anyway, if my experience with the service is bad, I’ll stick with torrenting and hosting my own server.
