We can no longer stream our music from Amazon Music through our Echo devices. If we turn on a VPN we can play if on our phones/laptops but we don’t want to use a universal VPN because then our Netflix won’t show some shows nor will we be able to bank with a VPN on. Anyone have any insight into the issue? I know two other people this has started happening to. We have been using Amazon Music for 6 years or so in BKK with no problems.

Update: talked to Amazon and they confirmed they’ve discontinued the service in Thailand. “No longer available in Thailand due to country restrictions”, they say. 
Same issue with us and a bunch of friends. Very disappointed.

Before: only US credit card but don’t need VPN.
Now: Thai CC accepted but need to connect my echo show to VPN router for streaming.
Me too. What next? Weirdly it still works through my Denon HEOS app.
Has anyone found a workaround? Anyone tried playing music via Spotify through an Echo device?
An update. A painless move to Spotify premium with a cheaper geographic price too.
I used the free version of https://soundiiz.com to move my playlists.
Contacted Amazon and had them refund the unused portion on my sub, which they did without much issue.
Set Spotify to default on the Alexa app and I’m done. Just got to get used to the Spotify logic and Amazon lost an 8 year customer.
That is EXACTLY what happens in these last 4 WEEKS. Can’t PLAY unless using my VPN. I am just wondering if this is a AIS problem related to the AMAZON THAI MUSIC APP.
I cancelled my annual UNLIMITED a few days ago and got my REFUND
Now I have heard from a dozen people this is happening to suddenly in last two days.
Same here, I just chatted with them and they said they had a “New update” that is why I have been able to stream for 6 years so we are getting rid of Bezos now
Not yet, but the documentation says it is possible. If you set it up as your default, you shouldn’t have to even say “Spotify”
I’m testing with the free version before paying the small amount for premium. Maybe Jeff did us a favour?
